I am definitely a fan of outer space, and you seem to have captured a few aspects here. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />
However, when really looking at this, I see how light the background is. When looking up at space, since it has no atmosphere, it is very dark; a dark blue, if you will.
I can also see that most of your really bright stars see to congregate in a general area around the nova-thing, I take it that is. (the bright yellow thing). I would spread them out a little bit more, to show a form of "randomness."
For the planet, the shadow would probably be a little darker. I would have to do a little more research to know for 100% sure, though. Also, I think it would be best if you made the glow around the surface of the planet spread outwards a little bit further. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart" />
There are many stars in this image. It might be in taste to get rid of a great few of them, since they seem to be making the image look rather cluttered.
Overall, I really like the idea you have here, and it looks pretty nice. I see potential in this. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="38" height="15" alt="" title="Hug" /> <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart" /> Nice work.
